Tercio Ambrizzi is Full Professor at Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas (IAG) - Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Brazil. At IAG he has been Director (2009–2013) and Head of Department. He is currently coordinator of the Climate Studies Group (GrEC) at IAG and General Coordinator of INCLINE (INterdisciplinary CLimate INvestigation cEnter) at USP. Prof. Ambrizzi has a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Reading, UK. His research focuses on Dynamical Meterorology, centered on the following areas: Rossby waves, Climate Change, Synoptic systems, Low level jets and Regional climate modelling. During his scientific career, Prof. Ambrizzi has been Chief Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Meteorology (2002–2006), and reviewer for the AR4 and AR5 IPCC reports. Prof. Ambrizzi is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He has published over 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, and over 20 book chapters. He has also supervised dozens of Masters and Doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers.
